The revolutionary upgrade for your reel to reel recorders! What could be more relaxing than listening to the sound of an analog tape recorder from your favorite armchair or your living room couch as you watch the reels slowly turning on the front of the machine...but how would you like to manage all the functions of your tape recorder without having to get off the couch? All this is finally possible thanks to the new WRC system! A unique combination of software and hardware, designed and built by Analogplanet, that automatically connects to your WIFI network allowing you to control your recorders remotely, view their status in real time and add new features such as:
Use the software on your smartphone or tablet after installing the dedicated board on your recorder. All boards are completely plug and play, installation is done without soldering and requires no special technical skills. The software is available for Apple IOS and Android devices and allows simultaneous control of all recorders equipped with a WRC board. All the original functionality of the recorder remains unchanged and it is still possible to use the controls on the machine in the traditional way.
WRC is currently available for Revox B77 recorders (MKI and MKII) and Revox PR99 recorders (MKI, MKII, and MKIII) and will soon be available for Studer A810, A812, and A820 recorders where it will allow editing and saving of machine audio parameters. Find out now about all the features of the new WRC system.:
Real-time remote control Much more than just a simple remote control Control the main functions of your recorders directly from your smartphone or tablet. Recorder status and counter position are updated in real time on all devices connected to your WIFI network and for all recorders equipped with a WRC card. The counter value is saved when the machine is turned off and restored the next time it is turned back on. Likewise, the recorder's usage data are saved, more specifically the total power-on time, playback time and recording time. These counters are very useful for assessing the wear status of the heads or planning the next calibration of the machine. In addition it is possible to view the firmware version and the IP address assigned to the WRC card.
Album management All your songs, always at your fingertips Store song positions while listening in an Album. Save as many Albums as desired and recall them later. The track currently playing is highlighted automatically. Select a song from the list to go directly to its position on the tape through the Autolocator! At any time you can go back to zero simply by pressing the function key or the button to the right of the display of the WRC-X board. In addition, you can manually enter a counter value to perform automatic positioning at a specific point on the tape.
Color display and new features for B77 and PR99 MKI New life for your recorders! The color display on the WRC-X board replaces the original counter on the B77 or PR99 MKI and integrates perfectly with the design of your recorder. The digital counter is much more accurate than the original mechanical one because it does not require the drive belts and the signal reading is taken directly from the motion sensor on top of the right motor. In fact, the original belts often slip or break and do not guarantee an accurate return to the desired position. The color and font are customizable, it is possible to select whether or not to display leading zeros, and negative values are also represented in order to handle positions before zero. A special indicator also shows the quality of the WIFI signal and the status of the machine. In addition, for B77 and PR99 MKI, the WRC system provides the following additional features not present in the original version of the recorder:
Autolocator The autolocator allows automatic return to zero, locating tracks in an Album, or jumping to a specific position. The command can be interrupted by pressing Stop button. Smart Pause The Pause function is available both in the original mode using the on-board button and in the new "Pause Lock" mode via the remote control software. Zero Loc Button Holding down the counter reset button makes the tape return to zero automatically. Zero suppression It is possible to select the counter display with or without leading zeros. In addition, the counter also displays negative values if the tape returns before zero. Font selection It is possible to select the desired font for the counter display. Again, you can choose the display with or without the leading zeros, and negative values are also supported. Color change You can select the counter display color, for example to match the color of the flanges or according to your personal taste.
Vocal control Now you can talk to your Revox! The WRC system integrates with Google Alexa devices to control your recorders via voice commands. The name assigned to each recorder is used by Alexa to identify the device on the network, and you can associate each function, such as Play, Stop, Return to Zero, etc., with specific words or phrases.
