The production process of "Legacy Master Tapes"
All stages of the production process are carried out directly at Analogplanet studios, using Studer A820 MKII and Studer A812 MKII recorders, constantly aligned and maintained in the best operating conditions. The first phase consists in making the "Working Copies" starting from the original master tapes. The copy is made using two Studer A820 MKII recorders equipped with butterfly heads (318 series) with variable azimuth and “trafoless” output cards without any digital conversion or further signal processing. The tapes are then recorded by the Working Copies for final distribution, using a Studer A820 MKII for reading and a set of Studer A812 MKII for writing the required copies in parallel. Again, no further intermediate stage is introduced into the audio chain. The tape used is one of the best currently on the market, it is the RTM LPR90 model which has the same chemical formulation as the RTM SM900 tape (the standard for modern analog recording) but which allows a longer duration in order to include the entire work within a single reel without interruptions in listening. All recorders are calibrated using MRL Labs sample tapes. |

"True Analog Recording" the guarantee of an uncompromising listening experience.
Only a deep technical competence and a scrupulous attention to detail allow the creation of an exclusive product. Studer A820 MKII and Studer A812 MKII recorders equipped with 318 series butterfly heads (with variable azimuth for reading the original masters) and trafoless output cards were used for this edition. No further intermediate stages of processing have been introduced. The magnetization levels of the recorded tape were kept unchanged from those used at the time for the original master. No gain controls have been included in the audio chain and no improvements of any kind have been made such as noise reduction or frequency corrections, in order to preserve the original sound of the work.
